Shopping spree or enjoying the sales


 BLACK SKINNY JEANS

I did it. I bought my first skinny jeans yesterday. 
The price was 29.95, with a discount of ten euros,
so I paid 19.95 euros because we are still on sales in Madrid.
I´ve always thought skinny jeans were not for me,
not for my size or body shape,
 but when I tried them they fitted me perfectly.
Incredible.
 I bougt them high-rise "talle alto" so they cover my stomach
and in black colour with very subtle stioed texture in the fabric.
They were in H&M just waiting for me.




LOOK 1: pairing them  with high heels and  Promod White tunic  with tiger

and vértigo high heels

LOOK 2: pairing them  with a Promod camo trench and  a Mango animal print scarf



DENIM JACKET
I also bought a denim jacket, size 46 in H&M, 34, 95 euros,
 not a reduced price because it belonged to the spring-summer collection.
 I just remembered having owned a similar jacket when I was trying it,
 but it was a Levi one, size 42, when I was about 12 kilos slimmer.



I would not have bought anything if I hadn´t met the perfect encouraging
shop assistant. She advised me  to try the jeans and jacket and
looked for a longer denim jacket  for me.
 She told age was a silly excuse used by self conscious people who fear style, so...
piqué, piqué...

If you are looking for a bigger jacket in H&M, go to Logg, its jackets have sleeves that  are
wider and the jacket  is a bit long (five centimetres)  than the regular cropped ones.


LOOK 1: pairing it  with  a light green sweater



PAIRING 2: pairing it with a  tartan print  shirt and ankle boots or peep toes


for example,

and layering tank top, shirt and denim jacket, I think.

Wives and Daughters Episode 1 Part 1 / 8

No conocía el libro pero me ha encantado la versión de la BBC del año 1999, Wives and Daughters , creo que el próximo verano leeré algo de Elizabeth Gaskell. Los personajes femeninos de sus libros parecen mujeres de verdad aunque hayan tenido que vivir en otra época. Me encanta Margaret de North and South, no se calla y dice lo que piensa. Se enfrenta a los convencionalismos y no ve una barrera entre las diferentes clases sociales,pues simpatiza y se identifica con los obreros, los pobres, los huérfanos. Cuando sus contemporáneas sólo piensan en casarse, ella busca algo más. Preocuparse por temas sociales es más divertido que hablar de telas para vestidos o de cintas para adornar sombreros. Margaret es ejemplar y valiente. La Inglaterra del norte le produce repugnancia al principio pero descubre que idealizar la campiña del sur o demonizar una zona industrial y comercial como Milton es simplificar mucho la realidad. A good read indeed.

FLAMBOYANT NATURAL

 Cada día aprendo algo nuevo y descubro como el método de Kibbe es muy difícil de usar. Yo diría que aunque tengamos espejos no nos vemos, porque nos cuesta ser objetivas o no nos miramos con demasiado cariño. Bueno, baste decir que yo he creído que era una soft natural, después una soft dramatic y ahora me decanto por una flamboyant natural. Me ha costado ver que mi cuerpo es rectángulo y que no tengo la doble curva aunque esté con sobrepeso. No es una cuestión de kilos porque yo he fluctuado en el peso desde hace años, 5 kilos arriba o 5 kilos abajo, casi siempre usando tallas 46, 48, 50 o L, XL y XXL de forma habitual. La estructura de mi cuerpo tras el cambio se ha mantenido. Tampoco es el estilo que en mi caso es casual-cómodo, clásico con toques boho chic o románticos pero siempre con prendas que no me apreten o que marquen las curvas demasiado. Confieso que siempre me han gustado prendas parecidas y ahora soy mas valiente y las uso, además de haber racionalizado y entendido ...
