The Perfect Dress

All women's dresses, in every age and country,

are merely variations on the eternal struggle

between the admitted desire to dress

and the un-admitted desire to undress”

Most women spend their lives looking for the perfect dress.
That one dress that fits you like a glove
and suits your style
and enhances your skin colour,
hair colour,
eye colour.

We act the way we dress.

                   Neglected and untidy clothes

                  reflect a neglected

                   and untidy mind.”

I dress for the image. Not for myself, not for the public, not for fashion, not for men.

Shopping spree or enjoying the sales

 BLACK SKINNY JEANS

I did it. I bought my first skinny jeans yesterday.
The price was 29.95, with a discount of ten euros,
so I paid 19.95 euros because we are still on sales in Madrid.
I´ve always thought skinny jeans were not for me,
not for my size or body shape,
but when I tried them they fitted me perfectly.
Incredible.
I bougt them high-rise "talle alto" so they cover my stomach
and in black colour with very subtle stioed texture in the fabric.
They were in H&M just waiting for me.

LOOK 1: pairing them  with high heels and  Promod White tunic  with tiger

and vértigo high heels

LOOK 2: pairing them  with a Promod camo trench and  a Mango animal print scarf

DENIM JACKET
I also bought a denim jacket, size 46 in H&M, 34, 95 euros,
not a reduced price because it belonged to the spring-summer collection.
I just remembered having owned a similar jacket when I was trying it,
but it was a Levi one, size 42, when I was about 12 kilos slimmer.

I would not have bought anything if I hadn´t met the perfect encouraging
shop assistant. She advised me  to try the jeans and jacket and
looked for a longer denim jacket  for me.
She told age was a silly excuse used by self conscious people who fear style, so...
piqué, piqué...

If you are looking for a bigger jacket in H&M, go to Logg, its jackets have sleeves that  are
wider and the jacket  is a bit long (five centimetres)  than the regular cropped ones.

LOOK 1: pairing it  with  a light green sweater

PAIRING 2: pairing it with a  tartan print  shirt and ankle boots or peep toes

for example,

and layering tank top, shirt and denim jacket, I think.

A Valentine´s Conversation

What is vintage clothing?

How do we know if something is just old or vintage ?
What can be considered as vintage clothing?
Which pieces?

VINTAGE CLOTHING:

Vintage clothing is a generic term for new or second hand garments originating from a previous era. The phrase is also used in connection with a retail outlet, e.g. "vintage clothing store." from Wikipedia

Generally speaking, clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to 20 years before the present day is considered vintage.[citation needed] Retro, short for retrospective, or "vintage style" usually refers to clothing that imitates the style of a previous era. Reproduction, or repro, clothing is a newly-made, copy of an older garment. Clothing produced more recently is usually called modern or contemporary fashion. Opinions vary on these definitions.
Most vintage clothing has been previously worn, but a small percentage of pieces have not. These are often old warehouse stock, and more valuable than those that have been worn, especially if they have their original tags. Referred to as deadstock or new old stock (NOS), they nevertheless sometimes have flaws. Vintage clothing may be either commercially produced or handmade by individuals.

If you are overweight you may not find your size.

It is said that the old M is our extra small. Please do not cry as I did.
But maybe bigger girls were forced  to pay a tailor in order to dress in style.

Women tended to be slimmer.

Obesity was not an usual ocurrence in those old days.

But still handbags, shoes, jewellery, hats and scarves
may be nice pieces to invest your money on.

se cumplía he decidido hacer nuevos ajustes.
Hoy he visitado a una amiga y me he dado un buen paseo

 y disfrutado vuelven a mí.
Estoy cambiando y me gusta.

Being overweight doesn't mean that you
have to dress poorly. Having a decent
first impression, even if you don't have
the best body.
Accept your body for what it is right now.

Never this combination: the faux fur waistcoast
adds width to your body. If you like fake fur
pieces, wear a hat or buy a furry hand bag.

Even if you want to lose weight, make peace
with your current size and move forward from here.
Layering is more for skinny girls but it is possible to
hide parts of your body if you combine the proper
fabric. The next photo is from the Man Repeller. I like
her blog. From her looks I admire how she experiments
with bizarre combinations and how she looks free and happy
wearing them.

While it is good to pursue a healthier lifestyle,
focusing completely on your weight can lead
to depression, and depression doesn't motivate
changes (at least not healthy ones).

Wear clothes that fit you now. While you
may have been lighter several months
or years ago (and you may someday
 weigh that much again),
'''if it doesn't fit you now, don't wear it.'''

Don't obsess about how you look.  Confidence will make more
of a difference in your appearance than a new wardrobe.
You can be both sexy and attractive no matter your weight.

Keep an eye on what's fashionable. Wearing clothes
that are in style now will make you look more attractive.

Window shopping adapted
