Otro sábado sin peluquería.

No es que no lo necesite pero...

decidí entre gimnasio y centro de belleza

y ganó el gimnasio.

La comida ha sido

un kebab para ellos

y un plato vegetal para mí

(falafel, arroz, ensalada, humus).

 Aunque estamos en otoño

aún hace bastante calor

y hoy me he puesto

de color  beige

de los pies

a la cabeza.

because they can be too much innovation

but don´t despair

try your coveted elegant clothes

combined with the humble White T-shirt

 and have a photo taken

then you can

jugde by yourself.

That is what I will be doing

with my own advice.

Dare to Recycle your old jerseys!

En época de crisis hay que rentabilizar al máximo nuestro guardarropa. Esta temporada el punto es tendencia, seguro que tienes más de un jersey en tu armario. En su versión más ceñida o maxi, son ideales para protegerse del frío. Aprovecha para lucir de nuevo esta prenda, que está más de moda que nunca. Puedes encontrarlos en colores lisos o con estampados de aire naif, grecas, rombos, rayas... Trenzados, calados, con pequeños adornos, flecos o pailletes, las posibilidades son infinitas. Muchos son los diseñadores que se apuntan al jersey. Kenzo, Burberry Prorsum, Yves Saint Laurent, Etro, Vanessa Bruno, Paul&Joe, Missoni, Jil Sander, Dries Van Noten, Proenza Schoulder, Iceberg, Isabel Marant y Alexander Wang, incluyen esta prenda en sus colecciones. Ponte manos a la obra y rescata tus jerseys de temporadas anteriores. Estarás calentita y a la moda.

Si no te gustan los jersey que tienes. ¿Por qué no pruebas a abrir los laterales un poco ( lo he visto en Zara y en H & M) o si tienes lana parecida teje la parte de atrás más larga, de unos 5 a 8 centímetros?

 Si sabes bordar puedes cambiar el jersey con punto cruz o cadeneta ( yo no paso de borbar lo sencillito). Por ejemplo unos ojos, una boca, unos lazos o un corazón.

 En  Zara he visto jerseys con apliques tejidos estratégicamente colocados cerca de la cintura, de forma que la moldeaban creando la silueta de reloj de arena ( los jersey eran largos y en punto liso de lana jaspeada marengo-blanco). Me gustaron pero recordé que en casa tenía uno parecido.

Con abalorios, flecos, apliques de ganchillo, apliques de cuero, cremalleras falsas, bolsillos, botones, cinturones puedes cambiarlos. ¡No todo a la vez , loca! Pero si has entrado en Desigual  o en Arropa que hay poca ó te  imaginas los jerseys como una mezcla de Yokana, Flamenco y Ágata  Ruiz de la Prada , con todas las anteriores puedes crear tu Frankestein monster Jersey.

Cuando gastar es gastar poco o poquísimo, ¿qué hacemos?

Listen to my  free piece of advice.
Combine or mix good expensive shoes or bags with inexpensive sun dresses.

Llevo unos meses de ardua investigación. He entrado en tiendas de las consideradas baratitas y con prendas de las tallas XXL/XXXL  pero con diseños más o menos actuales.

Arropa que hay poca

En esta tienda hay de todo un poco, hippie, bohemian chic (hippie más cuidado y con mejores telas), indie. Se puede encontrar alguna talla grande pero no en todos los modelos. Es ropa divertida y bastante original, con gustos para todas. A veces tiene toques a lo Flamenco o Yokana, incluso Noa Noa.

Mulaya

Si el estilo que  te gusta se sale de presupuesto. Mulaya puede ser un sitio que deberías visitar. Aunque sea para mirar, window shopping is OK.

Entro en el Mulaya de la calle  Narvaéz (Madrid)  una vez por semana más o menos. Cambian el escaparate con frecuencia y casi siempre traen cosas nuevas. En esta tienda de ropa china hay casi de todo. No siempre hay tallas de todas las prendas pero tiene precios más que asequibles, que permiten comprar tres tops por el precio de uno en ZARA o MANGO

La tienda atrae a muchas jovencitas, a madres con sus hijas e incluso a abuelas con sus nietas. Las mujeres de mediana edad miran más bolsos (algunas imitaciones podrían dar el pego a un lego en la materia)  y vestidos playeros pero en tallas pequeñas o medianas. En Mulaya  hay leggins, shorts, camisas asimétricas, moda British con banderas, camisetas punkies, vestiditos ad-lib, tops con detalles de encajes a buenos precios

NEW: imitan todo lo que hay en Mango, Zara, Blanco, H &M pero yo intentaría visitar Esfera, Lefties, SuiteBlanco, o cualquier Outlet de marcas buenas antes, si mi talla me lo permitiese. Vamos que si tienes tipín mira antes para fondo de armario y después de haberte echo una idea recurre a Mulaya a por las locuras de temporada, ya sabes, que son flor de un día.

NEW: Las dos siguientes son opciones solo si rebuscas pero no te lances a por todo. Su ropa envejece mal. Uso y lavados acaban con ellas pronto.


Primark (on-line shopping)

Entré en esta tienda buscando un cinturón y me llevé un montón de accesorios a los que no me pude resistir porque el precio era irrisorio. En la foto el colgante es de Primark.

No he comprado en esta tienda todavía porque no tengo ninguna cerca de casa. Pero una cuñada me ha comentado que los precios son  bajos y que no hay problema con las tallas. Esta será mi próxima aventura para preparar las vacaciones de verano con playa y montaña.

Acitivities such as:

cooking real food,

slow food, homemade,

sitting down on your favourite sofa,

on-line shopping,

browsing for new trends,

reading,

travelling abroad with your imagination,

knitting,

amigurumi,

blogging,

watching old photos,

on-line games,

playing LEGO,

...

Believe or not,

age changes our ways.

I would have died before saying the

previous , before owing up to being so

homely, so tamed

and so dull

when I was twenty

and now

I enjoy saving energy

and time

to be on my own

and

doing nothing.

When you are forty something,

you grow tired even if 

you know how to do your job 

or how to deal with

people at work, 

troublesome teenagers who

think they are just the centre of

the known universe. 

I insist on it again,

sometimes we LIVE,

sometimes we survive,

like zombies.

No,

don´t worry

I don´t eat brains.

10 tips about style that work for me

En casi todos los blogs hay un apartado que se titula, 10 consejos de...., 6 formas de..., las 20 mejores citas sobre..., 5 pasos para.... No se si es una locura por los números o es que a todos nos gusta dar consejos que nadie nos pide. Pero yo también voy a caer en  lo mismo.

• Keep it simple and comfortable, clothes are supposed to be more than status or looks.

• Harmonize the colours or if you want drama choose strong contrast. Dark colours help when you want to hide something and bright or light colours make the part bigger or look closer. This can be applied to clothing, make up, shoes, accesories even hair colour.

•  Harmonize the volumes. If you have no waist you can create the illusion of having it by using belts. If the top is wide then the trousers or skirts have to be fit, not loose or baggy. If the skirts look wide,an A shaped one or the trousers are flared then wear something fit as a top.

• Act your age. Dress your age. Don´t dress like your daughter, nor like your mother. When turned forty and overweight you become insvisible. But you don´t look any younger if you imitate a teenager even if you are slender and in good shape.

• Solid colours for tops or bottoms but colourful accesories with animal prints, flowers, dots, flower prints, Paisley patterns, lace, crochet, embroidered patterns, beaded, etc.

• Fashion magazines, old films, modern films, TV-series,Youtube videos, books on style, blogs on style, personal shoppers can help you a lot but if you are sensible and observant you will adapt to your own personal style.

• Stick to your body shape clothes, showing your best parts. If you legs are long and shaped, show them. But cover your bottom if it is big. 

• Whenever you look well everybody will compliment you. When this happens you just write down the combination of clothes and colours you were  wearing that day and get your photobook started as models do.

• I have been fond of the theory of colours since I was in my early twenties and I recommend everybody to become familiar with it. I am a Winter and I follow the advise about the colours for Winters.

• I dress to be seen. But so clowns do. If your clothes are striking, shocking or spectacular and you are plain, not particularly beautiful  then people don´t see you but the clothes-costumes you are wearing. I´d prefer plain and simple (minimalism) outfit but my eyes, hands and body  to be also seen. As I am a high school teacher, I think  the wrapping is not more important than the actual gift.

• I always try to dress for the occasion. When I was younger I have made many mistakes and now I have learnt all the lessons.

• Flats, plumps or high heels? If you happen to be overweight (my very problem)don´t suffer, wear comfortable shoes otherwise you´ll find difficult to smile or enjoy yourself.
